Holy bananas!
The last time I wrote a journal on here was almost over a year ago.
So what's been going on?
Well for one, I've been accepted into my major of choice Communication Arts. Been that way for a semester and a half now. Really glad. Being that it's one of the hardest majors to get into (second one being Graphic Design)
I've been hard at work really pushing myself out of my comfort zone and taking my art to the next level. To help me out with this I've done one 30 day challenge. As you of all noted I have a Pokemon 30 day challenge completed. That was to get me into digital art (something I did not care for not literally last year) It fucking worked. Now I am doing a 30 day Monster Girl Challenge. The goal of this challenge was to force me to use female human anatomy in various poses and to fine tune how I go about digital art.
I'm not done with that one yet. I'm currently working on Day 9- Demon Girl.
Like with the last one I hope to get that stuff finished.
I'll be honest though I haven't really been all that active on here. I will probably just update the gallery and reply to those who comment on my stuff. DA as of late has literally non existent moderation and is a glorified hugbox of comments and faves.
Artists I used to watch and look up to 7 years ago have almost literally not improved from that point in their art in nearly a decade. Some I have even surpassed completely.
Like hell I'm falling into that trap again.
On that note I have expanded my art to many other venues online

I am generally more active on my tumblr than anything else. Only in terms of my causal blog though. Be warned that most of it just reblogs of tumblr jokes and other art with my actual art sandwiched between. Maybe I should take up the habit of posting sketches more?
Anyway, that is basically everything that is up to date with my life so far.

New Decade Huh...
According to statistics on this account I joined 9 years ago. But I can tell you that I've been on DeviantArt longer--around 12 years to be exact if I do the math on my original abandoned account that I never had the heart to truly deactivate. The reality is that this account has also been abandoned. My last post was in 2015. Five years ago. One year before I graduated with a Bachelors in Communication Arts. Coming back to this account was like looking into a time capsule. The departure from this was caused by the allure of Tumblr. A fast paced, hyped up blogging platform that seemed so 'much better' than what DA had to offer at the time. Then I went to Twitter- tired of the callouts, crusades, constant slap fights and deplatforming of my favorite artists and sweetest people I've had the pleasure to call online friends. I still reside on Twitter...mostly, but it was all the same. Amidst the large scale discussion about having a 'social media for artists' I asked myself a lot why
Streaming Steven Universe

OPENING UP POKEMON COMMISSIONS!
Hey guys, long time no journal post! With July coming just around the corner I figure that I would open up Pokemon commissions. Not just any Pokemon commission though- but Pokemon Variation/hybrid commissions (although if you still want a regular ol' Pokemon illustration that's fine too.)

I've been wondering for some time... how good is Tumblr's format and general structure for hosting art when compared to popular artistic portals? On one hand, keeping the trash outside of focus seems to be easier there, but on the other, I found it relatively hard to navigate.
So far I've been using Pixiv for a couple of months now in addition to this very portal.
Perhaps I should reconsider some additional option? After I took a year-long break from deviantART I've noticed that something has changed in the way this site is used: practically zero helpful commentaries, having no sizeable group of followers guarantees that ones stuff will drown the moment it is submitted, omnipresent tag abuse that renders the search engine mostly useless...
